When I was a child I liked Barbie, elf, dwarves and snow white.
When I was a child I played with my brother with toy soldiers, marbles and dinosaurs.
We had a miniature zoo:
Elephants, tigers, liones and monckeys in plastic.
A little reign full of friends with whom to talk like they’re Alive;
Yes because everything, in His silence, has a voice.
These objects that had been in my life, in our life that I owe the inspiration for my project.
The key concept of this project is the sustainability.
My creations are the results of a creative redevelopment through the Recovery of disused objects in our daily lives, reivented and transformed to give them an artistic and playful soul in order to conquer a place of respect in the scenography of contemporary spaces.
Unique pieces, precious and sustainable fairytales…

about.jpg

Elisa Carovilla has always seen the past and present at the same time.  Born and raised in Milan, Elisa grew up in an artistic home with parents and relatives who were painters and jewelry makers and wood workers, continuing the rich Italian tradition of creating beautiful art.  As a young girl, Elisa visited flea markets with her grandfather, who loved discovering various objects that could be turned into toys for his grandchildren.  After earning a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Art, Elisa worked in various graphic studios where she specialized in digital art and photo editing.  Right from the beginning, Elisa was fascinated by the virtual possibilities of eliminating defects and adding details that transformed and elevated the aesthetics of her subjects.   In 2015, Elisa began working with antique furniture restoration, where under the tutelage of carpenter-artist Mario Bongiovanni, she flourished in a workshop filled with rich materials and priceless objects from bygone eras, as she learned to nurse and restore these precious bits of history to fit modern day use.  She combined this new-found love with the past toyetic influence from her grandfather, and thus birthed her first line of NONPIATTI in 2017.  Elisa’s vision was unique – combining antique plates with modern plastic toys, with each piece themed to something whimsical and unexpected, while harmoniously bringing together the past and present.

Elisa’s collection now includes lamps, small furniture pieces, and frames that combine anonymous and often forgotten objects, transformed into unique and unrepeatable pieces of fine art.  She continues to develop and show her collections in collaboration with Milanese Art Exhibitors and Dealers.
